Gone downhill – EveryDollar: Personal Budget Review

This app has been a vital tool for my family for a very long time. In the last year or so performance had declined significantly. Aside from occasional connection issues with my bank, which I don’t mind, I have had frequent issues with duplicate transactions for both income and expenses. The most frustrating issue is entire transactions that don’t import at all. I reached out in July and was told my issue was “rare,” a lie, as indicated by numerous reviews from people with the same problem. I received a condescending response explain in that ED couldn’t balance my checkbook for me and that I still needed to double check my transactions..well no kidding. If I’m doing my budget and have accounted for x amount for groceries that month, and 2 groceries transactions don’t load, my checking account balance is irrelevant. What I’m being told is I basically need to keep a pen and paper list of those charges so I can cross check it with ED to make sure they’re all accounted for and I have the correct amount of funds remaining for my monthly budget. That’s, absurd. I may as well do it all by pen and paper then because what should have created convenience had doubled or sometimes tripled the time needed to work on my finances. I’m very disappointed that this seems to be an ongoing issue for many. After several months one would think developers would have a fix, it was never an issue for the longest time so clearly it’s possible. For what we pay for this, it should be reliable technology.
