Impressive – MIDI Guitar Review

I have been playing around with this app for a couple of weeks now, and the poly recognition is amazing. I am only using 3gs, so not enough cpu to run app and audio on phone, but - it is working great doing just the midi conversion and sending to imac over wifi. There is some latency with 3gs, but for strings or pads it is fast enough. Have tried electric and accoustic, with both guitarjack (1) and new iRig stomp. All combinations work very well. IRig stomp is perfect for this, with big knob for levels, and bypass. I was planning on upgrading iphone soon, and this app alone is strong motivation. Layering strings on accoustic adds another dimension to my playing. On imac i am using mainstage, and for strings / pads i have a few patches all using korg m1 sotware. An important aspect to keep in mind is how sensitive your audio app is to the velocity of notes it receives. For those who reported app was missing notes, i suspect this is your most likely culprit. Mainstage shows velocity of notes received, and you can adjust the sensitivity so it will pick up notes of lower velocity. This made a huge difference, and really revealed the power and accuracy of this apps poly note recognition. This is truly impressive.
