Mind / body essential – Yoga Wake Up Morning Routine Review

I love this app because it is a unique concept, beautifully designed, and has high quality content. You should have no reservations about purchasing and subscribing if you’re interested in doing short yoga / meditation sessions when you wake up. But, I do think it will be used differently depending on the person. When I first started using, I did the whole setting the alarm and opening the app at bedtime. It worked most of the time, and I even woke up and used it as designed. However, I have severe sleep problems, so it’s difficult for me to predict when I’ll be ready to get up, even when I adjust the alarm time based on my sleep. Plus, the meditations seem really quiet, compared to other apps, so they will not wake me out of a deep sleep. For these reasons, I’ve decided instead to start the wake ups manually in the mornings. I still set the alarm, but either I start the session before it goes off, or after. It still auto starts when you open the app. Sometimes, if I get lucky, I use it as intended, but more often I don’t. This is a reflection of me and my sleep problems, not the app. That being said, I do think there’s something low about the sound quality, because I often have trouble hearing the teacher and music, even when I turn the volume up. Unfortunately, you can’t connect to headphones or a speaker, because the app is designed to always play from the phone even if you connect to a bluetooth device. I would really just like to pop on my bedside headphones to do the sessions and hear them better, since I don’t use it like a traditional alarm. Otherwise, though, as a longtime yogi and person dedicated to self care and mental health, I love this app.
