My Favorite App – Niche: College Search Review

I have to say, I think I’m addicted to this app/website. I use it all the time for fun, just to see the differences between cities, towns, and suburbs in my state and learn things that I would’ve never known otherwise. To my knowledge, the ratings are EXTREMELY accurate. I’ve traveled to places near me that are rated well and am amazed at how well Niche portrays the area. As amazing as the app/website is, I would say there are still areas where I think a feature should be standard and to my surprise it’s not, such as filtering by population, not just by city, suburb, neighborhood, or town. I would also like to see more filters in general, such as more things related to geography, i.e. a inclination selector for mountains, lakes, or beaches that would have options like “Don’t care | care | care a lot”, similar to how “Things to Do” is setup. I also think the Places to Work section needs a lot of work to be competitive with other websites and apps, as the data for my city seems to be out of date or plain wrong in some cases. Overall, I believe this would be an already incredible app if it just had the “Best Places” ranking but it has so much more, like K-12 rankings, College & Graduate School Rankings, and (to a lesser extent) Places to Work Rankings.
