Pros and cons (please read) – Secret Diary With Passcode Review
I got this app because I didn’t want to keep spending money on paper diaries and journals that could be unlocked easily by my parents and sister. It’s a great app, everything’s free and overall it’s been really good. Let me expand on this, I’ll start with the pros and then move onto the cons.
Pros:
The app gives you a calendar and when you write and entry it puts a little pen icon next to the date so that you know you wrote in it. It also sends you a reminder each day (you can choose at what time) which is really helpful. You get to select the emojis for your mood and you can write in it multiple times a day.
Another great thing is that you get to customize the entire diary aesthetic. The color of the diary, the font (I am a huge font person so I really like this), etc.
Also, as I mentioned above, everything is free! You don’t get many ads at all, just occasionally, and they are mostly 3-5 seconds long.
You get to add photos too!
Now onto the few cons:
The emojis are...well, let’s start with this: they don’t express emotion well. Like, the faces aren’t very clear and they don’t reflect the emotion very well. But you can also customize the emojis, which I think is a really nice touch. I think that they should try to get new—and better—emojis in the future.
One thing I discovered recently was that if you try to add a GIF that you previously added to your photos it won’t play. It’s just a picture. It’s not a GIF in the diary app. It just won’t move. I didn’t like that.
One thing I would recommend to the creator(s) is an option to draw in your diary entry. I think that would be a nice touch. I love to draw and drawing helps me get to a calm space and reflect how I feel.
Overall it’s a really great app, I recommend it for those that like keeping their secrets....well, secret, and those that love peaceful and nice aesthetic and fonts.
