Doesn’t do what’s advertised – Animoto: Video Maker & Editor Review

I need to create square videos ON my iPhone. Apparently this app only offers vertical format and it long crops pics with no option to resize. Meaning I select a square picture and instead of centering the whole picture it automatically crops down to the middle 1/3 of the pic. Not at all what I was looking for.
