Love the game, but defiantly needs some fixing – European War 6: 1914 Review

I have been a fan of East tech for a long time, my favorite game being European war 4. And this game is very fun as well. It’s really fun to play in the civil war or ww1, and I love some of the new features that they have added to these later games. I like the neutrality of some nations and how you can declare war on them, and the things that you can do in cities. Yet there are some massive issues to go along with these pros, and most of its in conquest. First of all, I love conquest more than anything in these games. Yet unlike previous games this one has a troop limit, which is maddening to say the least. They give you so little troops when it was more fun to be overpowered like in EW4. I suggest a food meter like in that game, where if your not careful it can affect you. Along with this troop limit your enemy’s are way too overpowered and a health bar for cities doesn’t help either. So your going crazy just trying to fend off the enemy then you notice that your fellow allies aren’t doing anything and are just getting pounded, even with supposedly easy countries I find it difficult to win as your basically by yourself. I suggest a difficulty selection who players that have little access to generals early in the game. I get challenge in games, and I’m all for it, but there’s a difference between challenge and the game being too difficult for the average player to have fun. Also I have noticed that playing with countries like Germany or America in 1917 are basically impossible in winning, such as onto my next point. I feel as though many of us play these games as we like history, and I hate to see when the developers get it wrong for “evening” the sides. This is at its worse in both 1914 and 1917. America in 1917 is unplayable, as you want to send almost all of your troops to Europe but can’t because Canada (allies of the U.S in 1917), the Iroquois confederacy (wasn’t even a thing anymore), and Mexico are all invading America in overwhelming speed (hence op enemies). This is the same thing with Portugal, as instead of fighting the rest of Europe in 1914 and 1917 your stuck with Spain, who was neutral throughout the war. This is to even out sides, adding in countries not even relevant to the war that you are fighting. But wouldn’t it be more fun to have only the nations that actually fought the wars and fight it your own way? Overall I love the concept of the game and East tech in general, but there is some massive flaws to this game. Overall, fix the troop limit, the overpowered enemy’s, the lackluster allies, difficulty selection, and eliminate countries that didn’t even fight in the wars at hand.
