I have to admit-this game is fun! – Magic: ManaStrike Review

Rare 5* review from me. It’s engaging, fast-paced, brainy and most importantly fun! I’ve read some of the criticisms from other reviews and while some are well founded, I think those will be addressed in later updates. I’ve spent money for the Magic Pass because it’s a reasonable amount IMHO compared to other micro transaction games out there. For what you get in doing so, it has been worth it. I haven’t felt a progress wall yet (rank 6), have access to all the new content except for a few paywalled planeswalkers . Even so, they are not meta. It has cooldowns to obtain rewards (long ones) but I haven’t found it to be atrocious. In fact, I’m chomping at the bit to play when they’re ready. The only downside is that despite it’s 4.7 rating in the App Store, I think it has attracted whoever it’s going to since release and I fear the game won’t gain traction for long term sustainability. There are few teams (guilds) to choose and half of those players are usually inactive. Nothing unexpected from Net Marble. Time will tell.
