The game is great, but the business model is unforgiving – FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS Review

Great game. Final Fantasy nostalgia at its finest. But the biggest problem this game has is the method of acquiring top tier units. Let’s face it, NOBODY plays a game to have the lowest level units possible. FFBE makes it close to impossible for you to pull the desired units of your choice. They have banner events every week, and in those banner events they’ll release new 5 star units which eventually level up to 7 stars (max tier). Some of them are only available during their banner, while others are available for good afterwards, but still fall under the randomness of the gacha roll... Only drawback is in order to fully maximize one of those units, you need 4 of them. And their gacha system, or as I call it... The give all cash here’s anything system is so painfully random it kills the experience. Then your desire to acquire said unit rises up, and you catch yourself wanting to spend money on their in game currency (lapis) so that you can keep drawing until your summon 1, maybe 2 of that banner unit. And even then, there’s no guarantee you’ll actually pull that unit because their drop rates are absurd. Also, the lapis bundles are over priced beyond reason, and if you so dare to buy discounted lapis at a reasonable price, outside of the in game app, they suspend your account for 30 + days, or maybe even ban your account. So you can’t catch a break with the prices, or the insane drop rates for the featured units. Again, great Final Fantasy nostalgia, but the ridiculously overpriced currency prices, and horrible drop rates for the top tier units make this game a real drag at times.
