Great for a beginner bird watcher! – Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab Review

I have a bird feeder outside my window and use this app to help me identify certain birds that visit. However, it must be the way I crop my picture of the bird or the way the bird is posing that it can't recognize even a female cardinal. For example, I got a rare shot of a bird looking straight at me with a ”deer in the headlights” look, but when tried to identify it, the app could not find my bird. In looking through their database, I deducted it must be a sparrow. Other than that, I love this app to help me find names of the birds that visit my feeder!
