Fun game, but quickly became a grind – Warriors of Waterdeep Review

The gameplay and presentation are nice, artwork is fine and it is fun to play initially. However, after a few days (Average level 4-5) the game comes to a screeching stop with the only options to pay money to advance or to wait forever for free chests. Upgrading equipment is needed to advance in the story, and the only way to do that is get gold. Problem is, there is no reliable way to get gold once you get to the point where the monsters wipe half your group in the first room. No way to get back to previous levels, no way to advance in the campaign, that leaves multiplayer and Challenges. Multiplayer is simple ‘got higher level guys than the opponent? You win. Otherwise you lose’ and the Challenges are limited and only give random loot. Too bad, had promise but is smothered by greed after about a week of play.
