This video format is not supported – VIATube - Player for YouTube Review

EDIT: well now it just quits and I’m unable to even start the app at all. Hopefully it’ll get fixed, and will be able to play all videos, not just some —- Very nice clean app, ability to make playlists without any bs sign-in or make account. Just install, run, hit play minimize and do other stuff on iPad while music is playing in background. Easily 5-star app, if it worked. Some videos play well, but about half of them don’t, giving “This video format is not supported!“ message. I’ll keep the app so that I’m notified when there’s update and change this review to 5-stars, if/when it works. Before this app I was using Dolphin web browser which was great, but it’s not working at all on latest iOS, give it a try, especially if you’re on older iOS. I would play music in Dolphin and browse in Safari. So now I’m using Soar Browser, it works, but it doesn’t remember anything you do. After you close it, you gotta go back to YouTube and search for whatever you want to listen. Far from ideal, but at least it’s working for now. Btw, a trick with these browsers is after you minimize the app, the music stops, you have to press play through the dashboard then (or on lockscreen). VIATube you just minimize and it doesn’t stop playing. So that’s kind of nice, and I would definitely use it instead of browsers... if it worked. Please fix it soon! ??‍♀️
