Quality sharply dropping since sale to Billgo – Prism Pay Bills, Bill Reminder Review

A couple of years ago Prism used to be THE bill payment app. It was nearly perfect. An app like this is going to experience issues with major billers because large companies continually implement small improvements to security and the Prism dev team has to keep up with those changes. It’s part of the game if you offer an app like this. The problem is prior to the purchase by Billgo, the dev team appeared to focus its attention on the largest (top 100?) billers and quickly resolving any issues that came up with them. Now many, many billers in the top 100 no longer work and there is no ETA in resolution. If you are a typical person with a few accounts with some of the top 100 national billers and many of those accounts don’t work properly with Prism, it significantly reduces the value of the app. I don’t know if Prism’s issues are due to change in ownership and how the company is run or simply due to changes in the continually evolving digital payment arena, or both. It is interesting to note many companies exited the bill management business around the time Prism owners sold the app. If this app is ever going to regain its value and live up to the hype it generated a few years ago the ownership needs to charge a reasonable fee for the service instead of giving it away for free and begging people to use it to pay their bills, use the money to hire more staff, focus on the top national and regional billers, and figure out how to resolve the many outstanding issues with major billers. If Prism management can’t do that it’s days are numbered as it can’t live indefinitely on a reputation from a couple of years ago and people will look for other solutions.
