Misrepresented Wait Times – Lyft Review
I had another bad experience with Lyft this morning and could be the last time I use Lyft.
I requested a ride which had a 7 minute wait time (vs less than 5 minutes for Uber). I waited outside then for 5-6 minutes then 6 minutes into the wait I get a text that a new driver will be there in 8 minutes.
By the time that driver got there it was 10 minutes, total wait time of 16 minutes. The driver who ended up picking me up was nice and I don’t think it was his fault more the process at Lyft.
I take multiple trips/day and spend between $5-$10k a year on rides a year. I usually take Uber because the wait times on Lyft are typically longer and/or misrepresented on the app.
I would say that 9 times out of 10 when I accept a fare on Lyft that the wait time represented on the app is materially different than what occurs.
I have no preference between Lyft or Uber just looking for the quickest ride at the best price, however end up using Uber almost exclusively now because of what I described above.
This will be the first complaint letter I have ever written in my 50yr life to any service vendor but I figured I needed to this morning.
