Nice idea. Mediocre implementation – PawBoost - Lost and Found Pets Review

8/21/19 review update. The latest revision has fixed some of the issues in my original review. The interface is MUCH better! So now 4 stars. But the notifications of lost or found in “near you” are not distance related. So you open the app and that pet’s name is not listed. It’s frustrating as there are many per day because it’s from all over the country? The idea of a lost/found pet app is wonderful. However, This app has some annoying problems that don’t get fixed with updates. First: the alert of a lost pet “near you” apparently has nothing to do with proximity. It goes off and the pet listed doesn’t come up at all. I assume because it’s actually no where near me. Second: if you click on a lost pet from the list, there is NO way back to the list. No back button. No “lost pet” list button. Nothing! So I guess the app writers don’t actually use this app, because these are glaring deficiencies. Also, there are ONLY cats on my feed. I hope that’s because there are no lost dog owners using this app, although there are plenty of lost dogs in my area.
