Great – Garmin UK & Ireland Review

This app is really amazing! The only reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars is because I spent the first day totally frustrated with it because while it says no Internet connection is needed, it DOES NOT mention that you must leave OFF airplane mode. If you put it on airplane mode it just constantly says acquiring satellites and just won't work. This I found is a huge oversight and needs an update to correct! It should at least have a warning to say the airplane mode must be turned off. I wanted it on airplane mode to prevent charges but since Verizon (CDMA) doesn't work in Ireland I ended up not having to worry. The menu for "avoidances" is completely confusing and should be clarified. If you turn on "ferries" are you avoiding them or making them an option? It seems like it could go either way. Overall, the app is great. There are an awful lot of streets that the app says to turn but it's just a sharp curve but other than that I was very pleased. This app was half the cost of renting a GPS and 40% cheaper than buy a chip for my old GPS.
