Generally great; iPad autocorrect an inconsistent mess – Pages Review

As a writer who uses specialized terms with diacritics, I have an extensive library of text shortcuts and custom autocorrections. They work in the IPad version of Pages...sometimes. Sometimes the same word typed three times will correct once; sometimes it will suddenly change when I’m typing several lines down the page. This inconsistency cripples an otherwise excellent app for those who write in languages that use diacritics. Update: apple has reached out to me to work on the problem. But in the meantime, the issues have gotten worse. The irregularity of this app’s performance makes it untrustworthy: it should not be used. Additionally, the app has started randomly changing possessives: John‘s becomes John‘a. Who knows why. Update 2: autocorrect now appears to toggle on and off at random in pages, meaning there’s no way to predict whether the app will reference special dictionaries, or automatic replacements. They work just fine in Mail and Messages apps. Pages is a weak link bringing down iWork. Update 3: now autocorrect is working, but only after you’ve typed a few more words. It won’t work immediately, and still doesn't’ work regularly. The program is now introducing errors post character entry.
