Was great before/long ago, not anymore. – Dolphin Browser Review

This used to be a great app, but that is no longer the case. Technically, you can still browse the internet (hence 2 stars instead of 1), but it is no longer designed to focus primarily on a good user experience. That is sad to me given how much I liked Dolphin Browser in the past. The sponsored shortcuts keep getting added back (profit chasing or just bad programming?) and you can’t use the open in new tab/open behind tab feature when holding down on a link anymore (one of the best design features in the past). I see there are data privacy concerns from others, but now the functionality benefit is gone too. The forced shortcuts getting added back often are very annoying/disconcerting, and that makes the user feel like their personal preferences/experiences are low priorities to the developers/owners. Time for me to stop using what was a great app for a new app, hopefully one where the developers and owners didn’t abandon the user’s interest so badly.
