App is NOT free – Emby Review

I remember when I first tried Emby that using the iOS app locally in-home didn’t force a ridiculous premiere subscription (seriously I’d just get Netflix for that price!) or an inflated priced app that’s good for ONE apple account. If I had to buy the app for every device in the house (multiple smart TVs, Android tablet, Apple iPad, Apple iPhone, Roku Stick, just to name a few).... and I would STILL get subscription nagging! A real misstep by this team. This used to be a decent system. I’m extremely disappointed. I don’t expect things for free, but since much of this system is built on the backs of open source code other people wrote... If the server license was a one-time $39 charge for personal use in-home and the apps were free I’d bite on this. But not for the cash-grab pricing they’re asking for. Know your audience. A simple Google search for feedback and opinions isn’t looking good for you, Emby. VLC is free on iOS. Most NAS devices support DLNA for free. Guess I’m uninstalling.
