The Never-Ending Nightmare – foodora Norway: Food delivery Review

We ordered dinner using Foodora for our kids since they wanted something other that what we were going to get. The ordering process seemed to go smoothly. I went to pick up my order from the delivery guy. Halfway up the elevator, I realized it was not my order. I called the driver. He said that's what the restaurant gave him and it must have given him the wrong order. To his credit, he texted the restaurant, but they told him I needed to contact Foodora. I chatted with Foodora and they told me to send a photo of the wrong food order. I couldn't do that from the app, so they directed me to send it via email. I did that and the chat dude told me they were looking into it. 10 minutes later he asked if I wanted to re-order my food or get a refund. I asked for a re-order. He then wrote to say they were unable to reach the restaurant. (WTH?) I then asked for a refund. (They processed a refund, except for the tip. I don't begrudge the poor delivery guy the tip, but it's beyond ironic to be paying a tip for non-service.) Fool that I am, I used the app to place the same order again. I was advised that my food would arrive in about 35 minutes. I then got a notice that the courier would be here in 14 minutes. Next thing I knew, the app indicated my order had been delivered. I gave it about 15 minutes and still no food. I then opened a chat again via the app. The app dude told me the courier accidentally hit "complete" and that my order would be there in about 20 minutes. It's unclear why it would now take 20 minutes when the last update before the order went into the black hole said it would be here in 14 minutes. App dude then asked if I needed anything else. Before I could respond, he had ended the chat. Over an hour after the second order, the courier arrived. Of course, an order of French fries was missing, but since my kids has scarfed down the fries from the wrong order which was delivered, it just wasn't worth fighting about. I could have WALKED 2 miles to pick up my food in the time that it took to get it delivered. And I would have been able to ensure the order was right. So, if your options are walk uphill both ways in a driving snowstorm to get your food or use Foodora, strap on your snowshoes.
