Fun thought game – Train Switch Review

This is an interesting thought game even if you are not a railfan. The premise is simple, put the colored car on the right colored spot. Not always as easy as it sounds, As you have to sort, rearrange, run around and generally switch things around in the fewest moves. Getting the lowest number of moves on each level will require several tries. Once you've mastered them, you'll want more levels or additions to the game. For the price, 18 levels are a decent challenge. The game could be better if it had a timer along with keeping track of the number of moves. Once you figure out the least moves on each level, that is all you can do. With the timer, you'd have another challenge added. The other thing that could improve it would be perhaps to have random car starting positions. This way, every level would always be different. The scoring might have to change, based on time and moves. Another twist could be allowing damage, such as running over a switch thrown the wrong way or even derailments that add extra moves or scoring demerit. There was a great game for the old Commodore 64 computer called Locomotive Switcher that had all of these features. I played it for hours!
