I really wanted to like this game – Metal Brigade Tactics Review

The concept and some aspects of the game are exactly what I was looking for - which is probably why I am so disappointed. Issues: 1. Movement board is squares not octagons. This is so poorly thought out and creates all sorts of frustrating inconsistencies. For example you can shoot twice as far north south east and west as you can diagnaly north east, south east, etc. Not even an attempt to round the corners of this diamond to better approximate a radious. Come on guys, the octagon was figured out for gaming in the seventies! This, by it,s self', turns what would have been something really good to junk. 2. Only suffered for a while at the medium level - but the AI was atrocious and behaved illogically. 3. Story line was mildly annoying.
