Good Effort But Needs More – Little Master Cricket Review

This is a fun and engaging app for the iPhone, but it needs more stats and linksage to cricket culture. First, cricket fans are huge stat-o-philes, and this app doesn't provide the kind of feedback we need. The presentation of run rate is cool, but we also need total number of balls, runs, overs, 4's and sixes; for the current effort as well as lifetime. Additionally it would be good to see personal high scores - number of runs, 4s, 6s, and run rate. A match option should also be implemented such that the user can play against a target - now we just slog away one player at a time, but the depth of the game can be expanded with paralles to T20 (20 overs), ODIs (50 overs), and even test cricket! Of course if all your batmen are out before the game well then that's just fun to be had trying to make it to the end of the match and improve your score. To round out the app I would suggest cultural references that would further draw the player into the game - what happens when the runs reach 111 - it's a Nelson! What happens when you get three stright eggs? Hat Trick! This app has so much potential. Three stars now for the engaging gameplay and probably the longest review I've ever written for any app, but expand and improve and it won't take much to convince me this is worth a Six! ...or at least five stars! Keep working on it!
