Much much better – touchAble Pro Review

I play with it for the first time last night and I was having a blast. With this new version you can preview the sounds on the packs in ableton. A big deal for me. You can see and edit midi and audio clips from within the app. Another big deal. I love the accurate recreation of almost all the instruments and effects inside the app for free (I had to pay for this before). Although I found myself struggling a little bit with the controls in instruments like Analog and Operator because I can’t read the labels and names in those devices. They’re too small. But it’s understandable given the limited space that the designers had available. It keeps on crashing when you turn on the arm button in the keyboard section on both iphone and ipad. But this is gonna be fixed in future versions for sure. Stability problems aside, When I was playing with it, I felt very little to no latency at all. And I was using a wifi Connection. I love my Push 2, and I love the way I feel when I touch real buttons. So I don’t think touchable pro is gonna replace it completely anytime soon. But I have to be honest and say that my perception is that the push can only do like 35% of what this app does. Crazy Update 1.0.02 Thanks for the added options with the fonts size and thickness, it was really nice to see that you listen. Playing from my Iphone, I still have to look for my glasses in the quantization menu. And when I increase the font’s size to much the letters go off the buttons. That problem doesn’t exist in the ipad. I was playing with the X/Y pads. This is one of my favorite parts. Very interesting the level of randomness that can be applied here. One issue that I found in the ipad here is when I split the screen, for some reason the second x/y pad instance doesn’t mirror the actions of the first. Also if I disconect the ipad from the midi cable, or if I delete an instrument or effect, The x/y pad forgets all the parameters that were assigned to other instruments or effects.
