Very difficult, but huge potential – BuriedTown - World's First Doomsday Survival Themed Game Review

I first played the game on android, and knew that at some point I had to get it on iPhone. As desperately as I wish I could say it was worth it, there’s just not enough to make it so. The game starts off at a high level of difficulty, and continues to ramp up faster than the player can keep up. There aren’t any renewable resource plots, and it takes a dangerous amount of time to get to the farther locations. It lacks the ability to scavenge for core materials from the surroundings, and artificially increases the difficulty even further. Why can the player not find ways to make survival easier rather than insisting on doing things the hard way? Why can I not set an old trash can out and let it fill with rain water to use for the crops? Why can water only come from wood? It doesn’t make any sense. Additionally, the character tears through cabinets and old lockers that have been overlooked; why can’t we scavenge those for wood, metal, and parts? Why can’t we disassemble old furniture for cloth and wood? All in all, the game is super challenging and nice to play when you have nothing better to do, but it lacks features that make games like “Survival” more replayable. The attention it garners from me per session averages at about an hour, but it could be so much more if only there were a few tweaks.
