Do not purchase – Fixd Repair Review

We bought this home warranty hoping for peace of mind, but it has been anything but. I’m writing this as our A/C is out for the 5th time in 4 months, and the quickest they can get somebody to look at it is two more days. We will have to move our four month old son out once again, and incur more costs to deal with that. This service has been a colossal waste of money and I beg anyone not to buy it. They consistently lie about when the quickest they can get there, usually telling you 3-4 days, and then change their story when you call again angry. Even the tune-ups cost you, which we were led to believe they were included. Even so, what a waste of money that was, since we have had 4 breakdowns since. The last guy flat out told us that we need a new unit since the effectiveness of our old system has degraded to the point where it gets to 90 degrees during the day when set at 76. They only replace specific parts as they break and charge you $50 each time. He recommended that we lower the temperature to 70 so that it only climbs to the low 80s during the day when it’s over 100 (which is every day here). I know it’s partially our fault for buying a house with an old system, but we purchased their best plan in hopes of staving off the cost of a new unit for a few years. Between the cost for the warranty, the numerous services, extra energy costs, and costs for moving out 6 times, we could have easily paid for at least half of a new unit. We are going to get this fixed independently and write this company off as a huge waste of money. Please learn from our mistake and take your money elsewhere.
