Forcing a social network vibe – Pinterest Review

Pinterest has been great for fresh ideas in beauty, fashion, home decor, DIY and so much more.... until now. They removed the categories, so it is no longer as simple as browsing around. I don't want to follow anyone. I don't want to collect followers. If I see something I like and pin it, that doesn't mean I want to see that very thing in my feed all the time. Sure, it's nice sometimes, but when I hit saturation on that I want to move on, but the new Pinterest makes it so that I can't get away from it without telling it I don't want it anymore. Gone are the days of getting on just to see what new and fresh ideas are out there- now you need to intentionally search it out, follow someone, or go down a deep web of related pins. And I don't see the point of following people- it's not original content. They might have nice taste, but that is really more appropriate for a blog. It has really lost its luster and what made it special. I can deal with he adds, I can generally ignore whatever social network features they add, but I am quickly losing interest without the categories.
