It has potential! – Simplex Math Galactic Blaster : A Fun Arithmetic Game For School Kids Review

I bought their spelling apps, which I think are great. The spelling apps had lots of instructions. This math app has none. After answering some math problems (there are no easy, medium, hard options just +-x/) there is a space game. I died 10 times very quickly because I didn’t know how to control the ship. On the 11th turn I just started trying everything and figured out how to move and shoot. The objective of the game is unclear. There is an equation at the top of the screen and equations floating around in bubbles, but I’m not sure what the purpose is. It was frustrating that I died so quickly, it would be nice to start out a little easier, but when you bump into something you die, when you get shot once you die, you don’t have a chance to do anything during the game portion. As a mother, I’d like to see instructions and also an option to set the parameters I’d like my kids to work on or at very least an easy, medium, hard option that I can set up in their profile. I haven’t had my kids try it yet (all boys ages 7, 9, 11, 13) but I know it wouldn’t hold their attention for long.
