Privacy nightmare – WhatsApp Messenger Review

First, instead of uploading a hash of your contacts phone numbers (so that friends who aren’t already whatsapp users, don’t have their details shared with Facebook) it insists on uploading (at least) phone numbers (not sure if it promises to limit itself to that). Second, unless you give it full access to your contacts, you can’t use it for anything. Third, it’s owned by facebook. Please try Signal instead.
