I really love it, but I’ve had some problems – YNAB Review

For part of last year and the majority of this year, the app was pretty useless to me, since it couldn’t connect to my most important bank. It worked great in the beginning, but when my bank upgraded some security measures, YNAB couldn’t connect and I would lose my place budget-wise. I tried to keep up by reconciling, but it would get confusing and I would end up repeating transactions when it finally did connect. Still though, even with the issues, just my first few months with YNAB was so great, it was absolutely worth the subscription. But, I haven’t used it much at all until recently again. It seems the issue has been fixed, so I gave it a month to see how true that was, and it seems to be true. I really liked this app when I first used it, and it helped put into perspective how much I was spending on things like lunch at work and things I really could’ve waited on; it was also really useful to see me achieve my financial goals. I’ve really suffered without it, because I legit don’t have the attention span to keep an excel budget, so I’ve really missed YNAB. I’m hoping in another month or so, I can come back and edit this review with some more stars, because I really like this app and I really like the people behind it, who have been really supportive and definitely kept me informed the whole way regarding my bank issue. Granted, my bank is really localized, so if you use a big-name bank like Bank of America, I don’t think you’ll have the same issues I did. I think my experience has been really particular to people in my area. So, absolutely worth it; just make sure you’re prepared to do manual transactions if your bank doesn’t connect.
