Cleaning fee scam!! – Uber - Request a ride Review

My husband and I just got back from our trip in Florida and we received an email from Uber saying we’ve been charged a $150 cleaning fee from our driver for a mess “we made.” We never brought any food or drinks into the car, and we didn’t make any sort of a mess!! We emailed Uber about it and got back pictures the driver submitted of the “incident” and it looks like he just spilled water in the floor and sprayed the seat with water as well. We asked them to look into the charge to see if it was an mix up on the driver’s part and someone else was supposed to get the fee but all we got back was an automated message saying they can’t do anything. I started looking online and I guess this sort of thing is happening to a lot of people also being scammed by their drivers!! I will definitely never be using Uber again.
