Chimeras: Blinding Love by LynxMinx – Chimeras: Blinding Love Review

UPDATE: Has anyone besides me taken notice of the fact that BigFish is advertising a new release which is NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES yet? It appears to be another installment in the Reflections series. Seriously, and it’s a game that should be terrific. Note to Catalina: thank you for the information in regards to the Five BN situation. Personally I think they are full of ??? and are creating a situation where they plan on price gauging the gamers, who will be so happy to see this game released that they will pay a ridiculous amount! I hope that I am wrong. Note to Believer: thank you! You just echoed what I have been complaining about for years. People will rate a game, say it’s awful or great but not give any reasons. That is not a TRUE REVIEW. I hope that you have enjoyed my review skills because I rarely do that to anyone. I hope I have made a difference. Note to KimTwilight: Hello, my friend! I experienced the same issue as you did at the end of the main game. The interface froze up and I had to reboot my game and skip the mini-game in order to complete the game. In addition, it was virtually impossible to manipulate puzzle pieces in the Extras section of the menu. Elephant needs to issue an update. Hence I lowered my rating from 3 stars to 2.5 stars. On to this game. There was nothing unique or novel about it, truthfully. We received all of the usual perks given to us by Elephant Games: customizable settings, teleport map, complex items and tons of collectibles (morphing roses, Chimera cards and puzzle pieces). I agree with Corntiques that we should have had indicators on the map to show us if these items were still available for collection. The graphics lacked visual acuity but I liked the color palette and the beautiful Parisian scenery. The storyline was quite weak, and had very little to do with Chimeras. This game exhibited some touch screen sensitivity issues, especially when trying to change locations on the teleport map. They weren’t horrible but mildly irksome, and we should be able to enjoy our experience. Normally their quality assurance is excellent. The HO scenes had variety, but I would have liked more unusual ones. I hated the puzzles/games, because most were of the boring rotational genre and have been seen many times over! There was a plethora of tasks to be accomplished at each location and I did enjoy the basic gameplay. This game was extremely short, inclusive of the bonus adventure. I would say the game was average at best, and my true review will be 2.5 stars because of the aforementioned reasons. Who knows if we will even get a new game on Monday? Last week we only got one game, and I purchased this game because I was bored. If you want this game, I sure hope all of you purchased it at the sale price; it wasn’t good enough to merit such a hefty price tag. In any event, we all know it will be on sale because BigFish uses any upcoming holiday (Independence Day) to give us a sale rather than a new game. Happy gaming everyone!
