No explanations or help – Japanese KANJI -Touch&Sounds- FREE Review

I am new to kanji, so dl’d many apps for help. This app opens with a screen of kanji that I can click on, that make sounds. To those of you familiar it is self explanatory but to someone utterly green? What do I do? Is the screenshot all that there is? If I click on them and learn the sounds do I know them? A little help would be useful. Thank you :)
