My most-used app – Simplenote Review

I use Simplenote every day on an iPhone, an iPad, and Macs at home and work. I have used it since early days after buying my first iPod touch in 2007. The interface is brilliantly simple, finding the information I've stored is easy, and the synchronization "just works" as expected. Simplenote is an invaluable aid to an aging brain! Apple's Notes app is also great, but older devices may not be able to play, and non-Apple devices can't. Simplenote wins if you need to work across platforms. My chief gripe is that on my iPad Pro 12.9", I get to see only one item arrayed in a column down the middle of my huge screen. Either the list of notes, or the text of a note when one is selected. The screen is big enough to show the narrow column with the list on the left and the text of the selected note on the right. I wish it worked that way. I wish the width was user-selectable, so I could see more of my text rather than wasted empty space. It's funny that apps like Bear are gaining popularity because they work like Simplenote used to.
