Certainly an option to consider! – NavAtlas U.S. & Canada Review

After 7 years of good service, my TomTom finally gave up on me. I decided to buy the iTouch cradle and to transform my old 1st-gen iTouch into a dedicated GPS. Overall, it works quite well ! GPS hardware is certainly worth a four stars for precision and reliability. It may take from 30 sec to 3-4 minutes to "fire up" the GPS and get a reliable signal though. It's made of cheap plastic, so I am not sure it will last as long as my old TomTom. Not that excited by the NavAtlas dedicated software (I would give it a two stars), especially if you come from a TomTom (and I guess a Garmin) experience. Maps are up-to-date, but there is certainly a LOT of room left for improvement with the interface/options. As an example, the "GPS signal strength" icon appears only if you have a route planned. Also, planning a route is not as intuitive as with a TomTom or Garmin. Of note: when I was prompted for NavAtlas installation on my 1st-gen iTouch, I had to free ~5 GB (!) of memory for installation procedures (you get 3 GB back at the end). I think you can use the cradle with other dedicated iTouch/iPhone GPS softwares.
