Bird App & Availability needs work!! – Bird — Ride Electric Review

After having a great time riding some Birds while in the city visiting this week (4/10 - 4/16), today was a completely different experience. After successfully finding 2 Birds for wife & I near Portsmouth Square, 1 of the scooters had loose brakes. They were 2 blocks apart & after searching for a bit, we found the 2nd Bird. Upon arrival at our destination, we reported 1 w/ damage. Then as we attempted to locate Birds for our return trip, we could see a few within 2 to 3 blocks of our location (opposite directions) but as we approached each area we were let down! Either they didn’t exist or in 1 instance near pier 39 we could chirp the bird & hear it but it was locked up underneath the wood deck!! We couldn’t see it but we could hear it - ended up reporting that one lost!! Then 2 others were “supposed” to be near by ... 1 was present but low & there was another but when attempting to scan for ride, it kept giving error mesg saying it was currently in “ride” mode. Bird Admins can check all my app activity to independently confirm this whole event. All this was going on & wife rode ahead (1.5+ miles - 30 mins) hoping to find & secure the next “available” Bird only to find more problems!!! We spent 1 rental & almost 30 mins on 1 Bird while hopelessly searching for our next ... to no avail!!! Waste of time & money!!!! Then to top it all off, it started raining ... had we been able to find 1 of first 4, we would’ve been long gone before the rain came!!!! Wet, tired & frustrated!!!! Something needs to be done to either help “pre-secure” a Bird from w/ in App if within a certain range (ie 2 blocks) or do a better job of clearing the available rides as soon as they’re taken!!! I intend to cancel my account & delete the app. Will NOT be sharing good things at this time until bugs are worked out. Will provide rating in App Store.
