Still has Limit of 12 habits as it’s major flaw – Streaks Review

“What’s this? Another update for Streaks soon after the last one? Perhaps they read my review for last updates & realized how silly it is to add more habits to track while at the same time limiting how many habits can be tracked to just 12!!” - Me Nope. They’re still limiting habits to just 12. - Reality “Dude who needs to track more than 12 habits?!” - habit app shopper. Well, adults with ADD like myself who can forget to do something they’ve done every day for two years is someone who could use that. Also those of us who have weekly habits on top of daily habits we would like to track. Sadly the developer has delegated the needs of people like me far below the needs of people who need to group workouts and feel haptic feedback. (“Is the dev trying to tell me I need to get in shape? If so, they’re right!” - me. All the more reason to let me track workouts along side all the other habits I need reminding of!). Here’s my previous and still relevant review: I’ve tried pretty much every habit tracking app for iPhone, and Streaks has by far the best features for my needs… with one MAJOR exception: I want to track more than 12 habits. With the exception of free to try apps, this is the only habit tracking app I’ve encountered with any kind of limitation on how many habits I can track. What makes it even more frustrating is my desire to track more than 12 is due in part to their excellent integration of HealthKit data! (“I can track my Apple Watch activity rings?!? COOL!”). I exchanged tweets with the developer who told me they “could see” increasing the number of habits that can be tracked in the future; but that it would not be anytime soon because they have other features they’re working on first. I find it odd that they are adding more ways to track even more habits, yet not increasing the total number of habits we can track! In the meantime I’m using HabitMinder which is very capable and has some similar functionality such as links to Apple HealthKit. I don’t like it nearly as much as I like Streaks; but since it allows me to track as many habits as I want to, it’s the one I’m using. I’m keeping my eye on all Streaks updates with the hope a new version will allow ME to decide how many habits to track instead of the devs. But after the response I got on Twitter I don’t think that’s going to happen soon. To be continued...
