Would easily get 5 stars if... – Grow Castle! Review

This game would easily get 5 stars from me if didn’t have so many issues. **One thing about this game that I thoroughly appreciated was it’s take on micro transactions, most games will limit your leveling by adding some “energy” system and then pushing you to purchase more energy with real money or some form of this. This game does not, you are not limited and the materials you need to level are earned through each level, I can really respect this company for staying away from such a greedy money grab system** First and foremost this game has no build for iPhone X so buttons and information are almost entirely off the screen or over lapped by other buttons making it extremely difficult to press some things. Second you have to keep the game open and running for anything. Mainly listing this because there is an “auto fight” feature that you can let the game fight through waves for hours for you, you have to pay through a micro transaction for this, but you have to leave the game open in order for it to do anything. Leaving the game running for so is very straining and damaging to the device and as the starting price for an iPhone is $1000 I’m not willing to destroy my device. Third it seems as though the game punishes you for doing well? I’m actually still confused about this as a perfect example is that there is a system of earning gold in the game through colonizing points on a map, most of them were around my level bracket when I started, but about 70% of the way through it changed all of the colonies to extremely high levels that I have no chance of capping. The largest issue I have with this game however is it’s lack of information and the fact that all of the difficulty ratings are not static in any sense. Almost nothing is explained to you in this game. As in you have no clue how or what most things are used for when prompted for it, and when colonizing 200 difficulty rating in one area is 700 in another and 400 in a third area. You never really know what you are up against until it’s in front of you absolutely destroying you. However if it weren’t for these issues I would have easily given the game a 5 star rating, very fun and addictive when working properly.
