Very Unique Vertical Shooter! – WarPath 3000 Review

WarPath 3000 is very unique. In addition to the classic plane and chopper levels, you can control two different types of ground units, and two different types of naval units. There are six units total each with there own unique weapons. The ground and naval levels have such a different feel and strategy than the arial levels. They are so fun, especially controlling the war ships. The graphics are super detailed and gorgeous. There are 15 levels and a decent variety of level designs. Even though the game is processor intensive, there is no performance lag and no crashing. The sound effects are decent but I love the music. It is so relaxing and flows well with the rhythm of the game. There are a great variety of enemies and they look great. Gun turrets, missile turrets, small planes, huge planes, choppers, buggies, tanks, armored vehicles, boats, submarines, and a great variety of sweet looking war ships. There are a few drawbacks. There are not many upgrades. Even though there are six unique units with different weapons for each, it would be nice if there were more upgrades, special abilities, and maybe some super weapons like bombs and lasers. Also, once you unlock all of the units and play all 15 levels, there isn't anything new after that. There are no difficulty levels to add to the challenge. There are also no bosses which would be fun in a game like this. Despite the drawbacks, I am still giving the game 5 stars for its uniqueness and variety of gameplay styles. Even without the bosses and difficulty levels, this is the type of game where I can play the same levels over and over again because of the gorgeous graphics, variety of enemies, and fun gameplay.
