A downgrade in experience – Product Hunt Review

In my opinion, the new design has significantly worse viewing experience than the previous version. This version tries to utilise swiping gestures as a main user interaction, but the implementation and thinking behind it is subpar. When you tap on a Hunt, it shows an overlay view that is dismissible vertically via an interactive gesture and you also vertically scroll to read more content. The main problem is with the conflict with the horizontal gesture of the media section. It also has horizontal scrolling between Hunts. I think the navigation experience is simply not good. Furthermore, I’m not sure what kind of technology is being used to build the app. It is noticeably buggy and clunky. The scrolling animations are off and slow. I hope further thinking and consideration will improve the app for the better in the near future.
