Location needed, why? – American Almanac 1 Review

There is no explanation for this and if there is one in-app, I’m not able to get to it without enabling location services. I don’t like to turn it on unless there is a good reason. If the app needs to look up info based on location, can’t we enter that info in manually? I like to look up info about other places too anyway. I know it’s kind of over the top to give this a one star because of that one reason, but this tiny thing is literally keeping me from checking out the rest of the app. As in, the pop-up won’t go away unless I have location services enabled.
