Strayed too far from first two games – Galaxy on Fire 3 Review

I was so excited to see GOF3 come out. But sadly it turned out to be another potentially spectacular game ruined by the dev focusing on micro transactions. The first two GOF games were simply amazing. Granted you had to pay for the game, and GOF2 originally didn’t have micro transactions, and you could tell the devs put a lot into the games. Even after GOF2 added 2 expansions, one optional space station (you could buy it or you could win it in game by defeating some super hard, but fun to kill, pirates), and micro transactions for in game currency, you could tell the devs focused on gameplay. Now GOF3 is out and just about EVERYTHING you do has to be done by spending money to get the higher end stuff. The game also strayed too far away from the other two where you would fly to different space stations for various missions, and there were also factions you could raise or lower your rep. Now it’s just following one mission after the other seemingly without the variety. Sorry to see another dev brought down by following the micro transactions trend! They had such potential to keep making epic games!
