Sequel decay – Terra Battle 2 Review

Towards the end of it’s run, the original Terra Battle started to lose its way. Character upgrades and party loadouts became more complicated, and level design punished the player for not using certain combinations, which a player may of may not have. TB2... starts there, and makes it worse. The equipment trees, adding additional complexity to a game that had elegant (and deceptive) simplicity as its appeal, are clunky at best. Upgrade mechanics are unintuitive and difficult to use well. The quest map could be fun, except when you find your party scattered because they got caught on a random piece of terrain, or that last item for completion is off the edge of the map.
