Nice diversion for an afternoon – Nano Empire Review

First, I want to get the accessibility thing out of the way. It's the only reason I didn't rate the game higher. It was frustrating to play because when I would try to activate a button, VO would have trouble focusing on it long enough. So I would request a slower refresh rate for VO users. The turn-based combat was very nice for VO, though. Gave me time to read the status and decide what to do. I played through the game a few times to see the different endings. I like that you can win without resorting to extortionist methods like, you know, taxes. It was also possible to win without being unsavory. Yes, the energy you end the game with isn't nearly as great as if you took all available sources of production, but you were still producing. Good that I wasn't forced to be a villain just to win. The combats were a bit excessive. I suppose I could have zapped them and been done with it. But that's energy that could go into worldbuilding, so I never felt like it was a good use of resources unless I absolutely had to use it. It's astounding how much loot I could get from one fight, though, and I like how that was scaled. I almost never felt like I was strapped for energy. And if I did run low, I would often get help. That was a nice addition, too, that I haven't seen in other games. I'm not sure I really like any of the endings I saw. Kind of makes it feel like all the effort to build the world was a waste. At least, it's not like I lost days. The world can be built in a matter of hours. I enjoyed the worldbuilding. It was neat to see a blank world become a mighty empire and to have an established economy and steady stream of followers. This game is worth a look if you like text-based things with some roleplay elements.
