Not ready yet – Avatar Nutrition Tracker Review

Would like to start this review with saying this is purely a review of the new beta app. Avatar Nutrition itself is 6/5 stars. Currently, the app looks very clean/ neat and simple to use. However, when actually entering food, the servings get all messed up. Adding something to your favorites list doesn’t really do much because once you try log it it doesn’t transfer over. It doesn’t separate meals and doesn’t seem to have a recipe function (adding multiple ingredients and combining macros for each ingredient and dividing or multiplying by serving size) which is inconvenient at best. I found it very challenging to actually log food on it just trying to enter 10 oz potatoes and 5 oz chicken. When I added the food as 1oz potato and then changed servings to 10 it appeared as if it were like 40 oz of potatoes instead. I did it a few times and it didn’t seem to be human error. Further more, the app only allows you to log that day. Can’t see the past or future as far as I can tell. Which is a big disappointment since I plan my meals out the night before. I also would like a function to see your friends foods. As my girlfriend and my brother use this service and we eat together it makes it easy to copy a meal. Plus I can check to see if my little brother is keeping up with his macros! Lastly, I would like this to incorporate the whole avatar service. With including weekly weigh ins, adjusting daily/weekly macros and preferences, and changing your goal. Again, nothing but love for the avatar team and amount of help and knowledge I have received but until the above issues are addressed I will have to continue to use MyMacros+
