The Black Hawk by LynxMinx – Haunted Legends: Black Hawk Review

That devilish dwarf is back, and so soon after the last installment! Leave it to ERS to give us a game that should have been enjoyable to play, but I felt there were too many negatives outweighing the positive aspects. You could customize settings. The game was quite lengthy with the bonus adventure. The graphics were excellent, albeit somber and dreary. Can ERS once in a while bring us gorgeous magnificent graphics? There was a marked teleport map. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. The HO scenes had good variation, and there were some new and interesting puzzles/games. There were a plethora of tasks at each location. Collectibles included morphing objects and castle tokens to erect the palace. Sound good so far? Then read on. Once again, ERS has given us a glitchy buggy game, with touch screen sensitivity issues that made me constantly second guess myself. I never use a strategy guide and I rarely use hints, but when inventory application fails, I check myself and I would rather play without help. The storyline was the same banal one we always have in this series, with Saint-Germain wreaking havoc and threatening all who cross his path. The map did not instantaneously transport you, and indicated OBJECTIVES rather than tasks, so one must run around like a chicken without a head to find tasks to complete. Why give us a map if it isn’t helpful; you can customize it so nothing is indicated if you desire. I want to know where a task can be done; I expect that for the price. Another quibble is that the game seemed dated because you had to make repetitive motions, when hammering nails, removing screws, sawing boards, etc. You all can see my point. I also found it difficult to assemble some of the complex items. Hit the wrong spot and it puts the item back in the inventory bar. I liked the full screen interface way better. You wouldn’t accidentally hit the task list when you wanted the map, or the hint if you wanted the guide. My review will stand at 3 stars and I am being generous! I wouldn’t have bought this game if it wasn’t a great sale price. But I sure am glad I played it before the new Labyrinths in case tomorrow brings us another dud! I am sorry if I put a damper on this game for you but I tell it like it is. Happy New Year to all, and happy gaming! UPDATE: Happily playing Labyrinths, and today’s game I can confidently tell you to purchase because it’s from 4Friends. Their games are fabulous and usually have amazing graphics. I bought it without the trial and they have excellent quality assurance unlike this glitchy ERS bunny! Enjoy!
