Unnecessary app that bugs me about notifications every time I open it – Messenger Review

It would be one thing if the app was optional for viewing messages, but the fact that I'm now forced to download an app just to open messages is so asinine that I felt compelled to give this abomination of an app one star. Furthermore, EVERY time I open the app, even when it’s already running, it bugs me to enable notifications. Why is “no” not an acceptable answer? How many times do I need to say this before the app takes me seriously? It’s installed temporarily due to a friend’s phone malfunctioning but I can’t wait to be rid of it again.
