Excellent Idea but sluggish Apple Pencil response – Greeting Cards and Gifts Review

The app is an amazing idea but I have a problem. On my 9.7 in iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil writing is sluggish in the app in a way it is not in other applications that use the pencil (like the Notes app). Is there a way this could be corrected? It interferes with writing.
