SammyDuck – Outlinely - Outliner & notes Review

Kudos to the developer for the streamlined Ulysses-like user interface here. The text/outline editor is fast and versatile, and the grouping capabilities are quite useful for organizing one’s texts and outlines. The $15 per year subscription rate is reasonable, though I haven’t seen any updates since paying for the premium version. What it needs, I think, are more capabilities like Ulysses’ sheet system for structuring a longer draft from its parts. If we could arrange outlines/texts with a MANUAL SORT within a group, and if we could join these together—or APPEND/PREPEND texts/outlines—we could construct book outlines, perhaps even book drafts themselves, from individual chapter outlines and texts. Would help also with longer articles and essays. Really like the slider—though not a groundbreaking feature— for rearranging lines/paragraphs within an outline or text. Just let us manually sort outlines within groups and tie together what we need to make longer documents. UPDATED REVIEW, DEC 9, 2017 UPDATED RATING: LOWERED TO 3 STARS Come on, Glam Software, I paid my $15 for an annual subscription in the hope that updates would be forthcoming if not regular. It’s been 5 months—almost half the subscription period—since the last update, which was a good one, and I wonder whether the SUBSCRIPTION MODEL TOUTED BY SO MANY DEVELOPERS AND NAIVE CONSUMERS isn’t just another BS con to grab money. We see this in virtually every aspect of our lives these days—from the fake-religion industry in Tulsa, OK, to the Mammon-loving political leaders we entrust with our children’s futures.
