Needs work – Care.com: Hire Caregivers Review

I use to love this app a little over a year ago when I first graduated college with my Family Relations degree. I nannied for a family for about 8 months until the mother was no longer sick. I then turned back to the app for a new job and I upgraded feeling like I was not hearing back from families. I felt that an upgrade would benefit me and families seeing my profile first. I have restored my purchase multiple times due to this app telling me under my messages to upgrade in order for families to reply. After paying twice for this month and unable to find a direct help number only an email I still have families blocked to contact me. This app has been a joke for me the past six months and I’m disappointed in the customer service. It is not easy to speak with families and I’m often blocked from families messaging me back after paying care.com their monthly. With that said I have never had a bad experience with nannying for a family and there is no reason for families to not be able to contact me after I have paid multiple times for the app. I’m extremely disappointed and it was a waste of my money. The state of Maine needs higher quality babysitting and nanny agencies in place of an app. Background checks should be mandatory when paying for the app due to recently a man asking to send cash to my address and for me to take my chunk of cash for my first weeks care in advance and forward the rest of the cash and child’a boxed toys to another address to where they were moving. I felt it was a drug deal for they asked me to not go to the address and to not open the boxes. Childcare has a high demand and it’s a shame this app is not working for me. It looks like others are having similar issues by reading the reviews. This app needs to be fixed in order to provide higher quality customer service and childcare. Mandatory background checks for the safety of children and childcare providers should be set in place when paying for the app to protect all who may be naive to predators. It seems care.com is not about providing quality childcare like they say but about strictly making a profit.
